If you have installed Red Alert 2 and/or Yuris revenge and have recieved the error "shared internet components missing/invalid...please reinstall." this is a quick method to fix it.

1) download this file: http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cncstuff/wolregister.zip

2) place the file registerWOL in c:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Internet

3) run registerWOL

two messages should then be displayed indicating the succesful installation of various .dll files

4) close these and the dos prompt window

Upon the re-loading of either game, the missing libraries should now be present.

I'm running vista (64bit)

I'm receiving the shared internet components error message.

I followed the instructions however I am receiving the following error message when trying to run the register.exe file

"Sorry, the 'register' server isn't available.

It may be down for maintenence. Please try again in a few minutes."

Help please

Okay I figured out the first porblem. I was running register.exe not registerwol.exe

Now I have a new problem,

When running the shared internet components fix "registerwol.exe" I receive the following error message

RegSvr32

The module "WOLAPI.dll" was loaded but the call to
DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80020009.

For more information about the problem, search
online using the error code as a search term.

Again,

I am running Vista (64-bit)

Trying to play YR version 1.0001 from TFD

Thanks

You need to right-click the batch file and select 'Run as administrator' (and confirm the action, if a box pops up). Otherwise it won't have sufficient privilleges to succeed at registering the libraries. Good luck.

Still not working properly. Run as admin isn't available like normal. it's faded out.

Clicked run as admin and it popped up the dos window and closed immediately.

Did this a couple of times.

Will reboot and try again.

PS I HATE WINDOWS VISTA AND AM REALLY CLOSE TO PUTTING ON XP

Thanks

Still no workie

Is the issue with TFD only or is it any version or YR?

Can I just go purchase RA2/YR and resolve the problem?

Thanks

Also forgot to add.

I'm running it from C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade

Not C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade

I Run as administrator is shaded out, you are not logged in on an administrators account.

._. mmkay, my computer must really hate me, and i've come to a bit of confusion... first of all, i downloaded the little DOS file, tried running it. it mentioned it should be in a folder in Red Alert 2, in a segment titles "the first Decade." now, i'm not so up to date with the RA2 series, this being the only one i've ever played, but what exactly is it referring to?very confusing for me, is anyone able to shed some light upon my sorry lil situation?

For future reference please make a seperate topic next time, the first decade was an EA release with all c&c games on from first 10 years, if you have the normal ra2 disc the folder you require will be westwood => ra2
